Well its the last week of the summer. Not chronologically or seasonally, but its the last week before Labor Day which is the end of the vacationing season.
I entered the summer optimistic and rightfully so. With August coming to an end there have been enough emotional ups and downs I feel like I was in a bag of Shake and Bake.
Its a weird feeling as my home is kind of breaking up. I thought I’d be the one who’d love it when everyone leaves and Doodle would be the one who’d be upset. Now she is pushing everyone out and I’m the one trying to keep it all together. I know she’s right, its time for everyone to either go or start thinking about it. Its time for us to be alone more or less.
We have a lot of stuff to do to this house and we can’t do it with too many people here, its counterproductive. They need to make it on their own now, they cost too much money!
Having Bri leaving next week is real bizarre. When I started Fun@Dave’s World he was 10 years old and a 5th grader. Now he’s 19 and moving out. He grew up on my website really.
The next few months will be very interesting. There are a lot of things up in the air right now and the next few months will set the table for what lies ahead in the next few years. Its a strange time, personally, creatively and professionally.
I miss Booter, haven’t been able to see him. September is a somber month being the time we mourn Janna every year. Everything all at once ya know?
You know what would make all the bad things feel good? If the Yankees would just win!

It seems you'll be experiencing that Empty Nest Syndrome people talk about. It'll all work out and just think how proud you'll be that the kids can make it out on their own.
I know you miss Booter but hopefully you'll get to see him over the holidays. They aren't that far off!!
You know, since you're kind of down...I'll even wish this one time that the Yankees win!! :-)
